Warschauer Straße

Gesellen, or craftsmen, belong to one of Germany’s greatest and most endangered traditions. As part of their training, they go on a three-year Waltz around the world wearing double-zipped corduroys and double-breasted waistcoats. The purists usually team it up with the knobbly stick and manky top hat combo but this just goes to show that you can stay true to tradition, and true to the street. The Hilfiger sweater and backwards cap adds a Brandenburger-proletarian twist that brings this 19th century cabinet-maker aesthetic bang up to date.
